The thought had been lingering in Huo Zhenning's mind for a long time; since things started with him, it was only proper to undo what he had done.2

He came to Xiang Yuan Corp for the first time. The color tone of the office was almost uniformly black and white—cold and solemn, just like Xiang Jinxi.

He sat down in the reception room, and the secretary served him a cup of hot tea, which was the best Dahongpao.

"Please wait a moment. The president is currently in a meeting," the secretary said politely and left.

The sound of air conditioning in the reception room was the only thing Huo Zhenning could hear in the quiet surroundings. Despite wearing a suit, he could still feel a hint of coolness.

It had been two hours, and Huo Zhenning had taken cup after cup of hot tea, but Xiang Jinxi was nowhere to be seen. So, he left the reception room to go to the washroom.

While passing by the conference room, Huo Zhenning found that the door was wide open and there was no one inside. Xiang Jinxi was playing him! He realized. It was just an excuse to brush him off.

Huo Zhenning blew his top and went straight to Xiang Jinxi's office but was stopped by the pretty secretary. "Sorry, no outsiders beyond this point. Mr. President is waiting for you in the reception room."

Huo Zhenning held back his anger and returned to the reception room only to find Xiang Jinxi in a black suit sitting with his legs folded on the leather chair. He looked as cold as the air in the room.

Before Huo Zhenning could sit down, Xiang Jinxi said with an indifferent tone of voice, "Don't tell me that you are here just to catch up with me. Cut the cackle. What do you want?"

"Jinxi—"

Xiang Jinxi immediately interrupted him. "Don't call me that. We are not close at all."

Huo Zhenning groaned inwardly. He had made mistakes at a young age, and he admitted that. Sitting down silently, Huo Zhenning said, "President Xiang, I beg you to let Huo's alone. It was all my fault. Your mother has passed away, let her rest in peace, and…"

"And what?" Xiang Jinxi shot him a cold glance with a disgusted look on his face. "Mr. Huo, you really think that the world owes you a living and everyone must dance to your tune?" The cold voice pierced through the heart of Huo Zhenning.

"Huo's is an empty shell now. The reason that I have not finished it off just yet is that I want to see how desperate you are. My next target is Thunderbolt." Xiang Jinxi had made that clear at the Huo residence that day. He then continued. "As far as I know, you and your son have severed ties. Huo Yunting has nothing to do with you. Yet you look so nervous; what are you afraid of?"

"I have no doubt about the ability of Huo Yunting!" Huo Zhenning knew his son, but he could not make out what was in Xiang Jinxi's mind.

"Since you are so confident, you should not have come. Walk yourself out." Xiang Jinxi put down the iced coffee and got to his feet, face still emotionless.

"Wait! I am not finished yet!" Huo Zhenning anxiously stopped him. "I come for Huo's, and it has nothing to do with Thunderbolt!"

"Then what bargaining chips do you have to negotiate with me? You had better not mention vain stuff like family ties; that will only make a fool of yourself." Xiang Jinxi stopped in his tracks. He did not sit back down but just glanced at Huo Zhenning's stooped body.
