Nevertheless, the possibility of Wen He falling sick all of a sudden was really uncalled for. 2

To cope with the issue, he gave up on the water path which was safer yet more difficult to venture as he picked the flat ground risking to be discovered anytime. Howerver, the path was much slower as it would take a day and a half. 

"Dang…" Wen He's voice rang weakly behind.

"Who's touchin' mah ass? I'm going to kill that person."

"..." Huo Chen shift his grip to her thighs. His ears reddened. 

Wen He opened her eyes gradually, only to see his handsome face and the woods. She froze, wondering if the sensation on her bottom was part of her dream, "Huo Chen? Was it you who touched me? Am I dreaming? Did you touch my ass?"

Several snorts were heard among the team. It was hard for the soldiers to hold themselves from laughing out loud. 

"You have a fever," said Huo Chen, diverging the focus. 

"Fever?" She swung her head and could feel it pounding. She lifted her head and took a look around, "Are we on a rush?" She then discovered that she was on Huo Chen's back the whole time, "Put me down!" She flailed, trying to get off his back, "I can walk by myself." Her voice was hoarse as Huo Chen tightened the grip, "Don't you ever move!" And Wen He fell onto his back again, "I-I think I *am* really sick…" 

Even flailing a bit drained her. 

"Mhm," responded Huo Chen with an unidentifiable tone, "Does anyone have fever pills?"

They did have a doctor in the camp but he was on Song Shou's team. Also, they did have a simple first-aid kit but it only contained bandages and creams. Huo Chen then asked his man to rummage through his bag and they finally found a capsule inside a plastic case. "Here, ma'am." The soldier passed the pill and the water bottle to Wen He who gargled it without hesitation. 

She fell back onto Huo Chen as unwillingly she spoke, "H-Huo Chen…" 

"Yes?"

"Sorry…" She was remorseful, "I wanted to help you but I don't know why I'll always become a burden to you…"

"No."

"If it wasn't you, I would never be able to plot such a detailed map for this area." 

And my plan would not be such a smooth sail. 

Wen He remained quiet. Huo Chen's compliment might be sound but she knew the situation too well. 

It was a place where they could be killed anytime. Wen He clearly was not being helpful in the situation. 

She might even become the cause to their death. 

The more she thought, the more guilty she felt. She examined his face in a glance, only to behold a gorgeous face that was so calm, even indifferent.

They were on a rush yet Huo Chen was ever-nonchalant. 

Wen He's view shook as she felt the beating heat of the muscles underneath his thin and wet shirt. His step landed firmly as his will. It was very reassuring. 

And that was the moment Wen He realized something else.

She realized the reason she had fallen in love with such a man. 

Her face could no longer resist the temptation as she began rubbing against his back getting drowsier.

She was drowsy yet she could not fall asleep at all. There was a ball of flame burning inside her, searing her sanity. It overflowed. It wrapped upon her—so warm yet it hurt.

"Huo Chen, you know…I've always felt that I could live well my days alone…but that was before meeting you. I was wrong all these years."
