"Get in." Mo Xue'er gestured at the car seat beside her, and Huo Yanyan got in without saying anything.2

Mo Xue'er had on thick makeup and was wearing a grey fur coat. She was as flashy as she always was.

"What do you want?" Huo Yanyan asked, not appearing to be very welcoming.

"I know why you suddenly decided to hook up with Shen Mingxi. You want to use him for revenge, don't you?" Mo Xue'er asked with a mysterious smile.

Huo Yanyan snickered. "Miss Mo, we don't know each other well. Please don't make it sound like you know everything about me."

Mo Xue'er: "You're right. I don't know much about you, and that's why I investigated you."

Huo Yanyan: "You investigated me? Haha, I'm flattered that a huge celebrity like you would be interested in a normal person like me."

Mo Xue'er: "I didn't do it for no reason, of course. I never make losing investments."

"So, what do you want from me?" Huo Yanyan asked again.

Mo Xue'er slowly took out a pack of cigarettes and glanced over at Huo Yanyan. "Do you want a drag?"

"No," she refused.

"Then do you mind if I have one?" Mo Xue'er smiled.

"Do as you wish." Huo Yanyan's tone was colder than ever.

Mo Xue'er lit up a cigarette and inhaled hard. Then, she said, "I want you to work with me to ruin someone. Of course, it's someone you hate as well."

"You're talking about Huo Mian, aren't you?" Huo Yanyan smiled. She knew Mo Xue'er hated Huo Mian, so it was her first guess.

"I'm not. I may dislike Huo Mian, but I'm not at the point where I have to make her disappear… Plus, the person I am today is no match for her. I know when I'm overreaching."

"Then who are you talking about?" Huo Yanyan tilted her head at Mo Xue'er in confusion.

"Huo Siqian."

Upon hearing his name, Huo Yanyan froze for a quick second. "Huo Siqian? I thought you…"

She didn't finish her thought; everyone in the city knew about Mo Xue'er's history with Huo Siqian. The latter even brought her home a couple of times before their father died.

"You're wondering why I want to make him disappear, aren't you? You think I love him." Mo Xue'er chuckled at Huo Yanyan.

"Yes."

"I love him, and that's why I hate him. You can understand my feelings toward him as… hate that stems from love."

"What do you want to do with him?" Huo Yanyan asked, unwilling to waste any more time with her.

"I want him dead. You want that too, don't you?"

Huo Yanyan nodded. "I do, but… he's not that easy to deal with."

"That's why I'm here." Mo Xue'er smiled freakishly.

"You are overestimating me. I'm not all that… You've come to the wrong person." Huo Yanyan looked down.

"You can't, but Shen Mingxi can. You can lean on him, can't you?"

"This is my business, I don't want to... drag him down with me."

"Come on, Huo Yanyan, stop pretending. I know what kind of person you are. I came because I was sure. Let me make this short and sweet, I've cooked up a perfect plan, and I know it'll succeed as long as you work with me. Once Huo Siqian dies, I can leave the country in peace, and you would've gotten your revenge. It's a win-win situation, isn't it?"

"You make everything sound extremely simple. But if your plan fails, then we're screwed. You know how terrifying Huo Siqian can be with his means of revenge," Huo Yanyan replied calmly.
